Young Life

It is exciting to know that I’m going to be in one place for several years. I have done what I could to get involved in the communities and lives of people the last three years as I’ve moved all over the country, but it’s been tough. Here in Virginia I plan to get back involved in Young Life, a ministry that I love and is doing something that no other group is doing – actually going to be with young people where they are. I started meeting with the Area Director here and it looks like I’ll start helping to train the college students who are learning to become leaders. That is very exciting to know that I will get a chance to pass on the things that I have learned over the last eight years of working with youth. I encourage you to find a way to give back in your own communities.
On another interesting note, it’s about time for another trip. I’m thinking either sea-kayaking down off the Baja peninsula or going to see the northern lights in Iceland. Any experience along those lines or other ideas, please let me know!

You could do a more Hassell-like excursion and hike up a live volcano and look in! Or go swim the Nile to see if you can out-swim a crocodile. Be sure to put up a Blog-post afterwards, with pictures,so we can share in your adventurous life!

Done the volcano thing, but I don't know if I could outswim a croc. Wrestling one would certainly be an experience though; or maybe bullfighting instead...
