Silver Wings

I did it! I finished pilot training and now am wearing the silver wings of a military aviator. There was a very special graduation ceremony that my family and friends came to last Friday. We had a great time together and I got to show them the base and let them fly the T-38 simulator - Paul had a great time trying to fly supersonic under power lines.
Back in 1999, when it seemed impossible to get to this point, Rick Kuhlman gave me a set of wings anyway and wrote on the back "follow your dreams." I've kept them ever since and now seven years later I'm wearing them on my chest. I am a very happy man to know the direction my life is meant to take so that I can throw myself into pursuing that wholeheartedly.
